The book manuscript has been accepted by MS more than a month ago.

Not many things will change on the SQL Server 2008 BI arena so I don’t think that the book will become obsolete when SQL Server 2008 is out. SQL Server 2008 will be a minor upgrade from functionality standpoint for all BI services – SSAS, SSRS, and SSIS.

I’ve pre-ordered this book from Amazon and they wrote me today saying:

We’re writing about the order you placed on August 28 2007. Unfortunately, the release date for the item(s) listed below has
changed, and we need to provide you with a new delivery estimate based on the new release date:

Erik Veerman (Author), et al “MCTS Self-Paced Training Kit (Exam 70-
445): Microsoft SQL Server(TM) 2005 Business Intelligence
Implementation and Maintenance (Pro – Certification)” [Paperback]
Estimated arrival date: 09/19/2007

Can you comment on the release date? Just curious.

Another thing I’m wondering about, with this cert book coming out so close to SQL 2008 and the MCITP for BI book that hasn’t even come out yet, thought its scheduled, can you tell me what people behind the scenes are thinking for these certs; how will 2008 affect these certs? Will it take 3 years for new ones for 2008 so we might as well go with MCTS and MCITP BI for 2005?
