Online Training FAQ
Course Structure
Q: Can we schedule custom dates for a class?
A: Please contact us to discuss this option for groups of five or more students.
Q: How much time should I plan?
A: As with classroom training, you should reserve a full day for each day of the class. Each day includes about 4.5 hours of instructor-led online training. You should plan for additional time to work on the lab excercises.
Q: When will I do the lab exercises?
A: Outside training hours. You need to schedule additional time outside the training session to complete the labs. There are usually 2-3 lab exercises per module requiring about 2-3 hours of practice for the entire content presented during the day.
Q: What if I get stuck following the lab instructions?
A: Each module will be recorded so you could follow the demos step-by-step. If you still have an issue, you can post a question to the training forum or discuss the issue the next day.
Q: Do you offer a full-day online class version to help interactively with the labs?
A: Expanding the part-time class to a full-day class and have the instructor assists with the labs by sharing the student desktop is a possibility. Please contact us to discuss this option.
Q: What course materials will I get?
A: When the class starts, you will get the slides and lab manuals in PDF format and the source code. Whenever applicable, you will also receive a complimentary book for further study.
Q: Will I be able to ask questions?
A: You are encouraged to ask questions during the meeting either directly or using the Live Meeting Q&A panel.
Q: What if I have to miss a day or a part of a lesson?
A: Each module will be recorded and available for viewing online for 30 days after the meeting.
Q: Will your courses help me to prepare for Microsoft BI exams?
A: As co-authors of the Microsoft BI training kits and Microsoft certified trainers, we can assure you that our classes meet and exceed the content covered in the Microsoft Official Curriculum. That said, the most important success factor to pass a certification exam is real-life experience. When preparing for the exam, at minimum you should do all class lab exercises and study the book that you will get when you attend the class.
Q: My organization prefers Microsoft Official Curriculum (MOC). Do you teach Business Intelligence MOC online classes?
A: Yes, as a Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) we can teach Reporting Services and Analysis Services MOC online classes. Your organization is responsible for purchasing the student training materials. Please contact us to find how we can help you.
